The luxury property will feature 54 beach villas and a Six Senses spa spread across an eight acre cocounut plantation on one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka.
Of the villas, 14 units feature private pools and will be offered for sale as freehold managed properties.
As part of the resort, a number of villas are being planned on a private 26 acre island set in the nearby backwaters adjoining the protected Madhu Ganga sanctuary.
Designed in the legendary ethos of the Six Senses brand, the stilted villas will be built using natural materials with a carbon and waste neutral goal so as not to impinge in any way on the pristine freshwater environment of the site.
Originally scheduled to commence construction in 2008, planning approvals are at present being obtained, following which a final commencement date will be announced.
